American Soul
American Soul is a scripted drama that aired its first season on BET in 2019. It tells the true story of Don Cornelius and the conception and evolution of Soul Train. The series highlights the perseverance and grit of an African-American entrepreneur in a white-dominated field while celebrating the music and iconic dance moves of the show. The wardrobe and set evoked bright, bold patterns of the seventies, and that style flowed through its social media assets. These pieces were all published on BET’s and American Soul’s Twitter, Facebook, and/or Instagram.
